You can cancel all or part of your aid depending on whether it has been paid out (disbursed):

• Not disbursed yet: Contact the Office of Financial Aid.
• Already disbursed: You may still cancel within a set time frame. Review your Borrower’s Rights and Responsibilities Statement at studentaid.gov under Retrieve MPN.

How to cancel

1. Write a signed letter with:
   • Amount you want to cancel
   • Aid year or term
   • Your handwritten signature (typed or digital signatures not accepted)
2. Save as a PDF or image.
3. Go to the UMGC Help Center:
   1. Select Case Type > Financial Aid
   2. Complete the form
   3. Upload your signed document
   4. Click Save Case
