What is a book allowance (voucher)?
Most UMGC courses use free electronic resources in your online classroom. If your course requires paid materials (like software or textbooks), these costs are not included in tuition and must be paid out of pocket.
If you're eligible, you can request a book allowance (voucher) to use your financial aid toward these materials before your aid is disbursed.
- Allowances are available in $300, $400, or $500 amounts
- Any unused funds will be refunded after the semester ends (within 14 days of posting)
- UMGC Europe and Asia students are not eligible
