Do I need to apply and register in both ArmyIgnitED and MyUMGC?

If you're using Army Tuition Assistance (TA) and are new to UMGC (or returning after two years):

  1. Apply through the UMGC application portal.
  2. Set up your ArmyIgnitED account and create your Education Goal.
  3. Select University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) as your home school.

Class Registration and TA Steps

  1. Register for classes in your MyUMGC student portal.
  2. Submit your Tuition Assistance Request (TAR) in ArmyIgnitED between 60 and 7 days before class starts.

Reminders

  • Submitting a TAR does not register you for your class; you must still register in MyUMGC.
  • Ensure your class start and end dates are accurate in your approved TA. If not, it may not be posted to your account.
  • Only the ArmyIgnitED Education Center can update your TAR. UMGC cannot change course start dates.
