How do I apply for the Yellow Ribbon Program?
Only students who are 100% eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill and are being charged the out-of-state tuition rate are eligible for the Yellow Ribbon program.
- Apply for the Post-9/11 GI Bill at VA.gov.
- Obtain your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from the VA.
- Log in to your UMGC student account.
- Complete the Request for Certification form.
- Select Chapter 33 (Post-9/11 GI Bill).
- When the CH 33 Yellow Ribbon Program box appears, check the box to use Yellow Ribbon.
- Submit the form.
- Repeat this process every semester.
If you have already completed the Request for Certification Form and did not select Yellow Ribbon, email veterans.certification@umgc.edu and request to add Yellow Ribbon.
Note: If you are 100% eligible and receive the in-state tuition rate, you do not need the Yellow Ribbon program to cover the cost of your tuition and fees.
