How can I apply for the military tuition rate?
To receive the military tuition rate, submit proof of your military affiliation to residency@umgc.edu (or fax to 240-684-2153) within 30 days of applying to UMGC.
Eligibility Requirements
- Active-duty service members (including PHS, NOAA, Selected Reserves, and National Guard)
- Spouses of active-duty members (PHS or NOAA included)
- Dependent children of active-duty members (PHS or NOAA included)
Required documents
Service members: One of the following:
- Proof of service statement or letter
- Most recent enlistment/commissioning contract
- Tuition Assistance (TA) form showing separation/ETS date
- Recent Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) with ETS/separation date
Note: Military ID cards are not accepted.
Spouses:
- DEERS Form 1172, OR
- Marriage license and one of your spouse’s service member documents above
Dependent children:
- DEERS Form 1172
