What credits can I apply to my graduate program?
Most Graduate Programs
- Can transfer up to 12 credits toward your graduate degree if your credits were earned at an approved institution and the credits are related to your program of study.
- Doctor of Business Administration and Doctor of Management in Community College Policy and Administration programs do not accept transfer credits.
Graduate Certificate Programs
- Can transfer up to 6 graduate credits toward our certificate programs.
General Criteria for Transfer Credits
- Credits must be graduate-level and earned at an approved institution.
- A minimum grade of B (3.0) is required for each course considered for transfer.
- Credits should be relevant to your UMGC program of study.
- Transferred credits must not have been used to meet the requirements of a previously earned degree.
