How do I apply as a non-degree seeking student?

If you are not enrolled at another University System of Maryland school, you can apply as a non-degree seeking student by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the UMGC Application Portal
  2. Choose Undergraduate or Graduate (based on the course you want)
  3. Select Non-Degree Seeking Student when prompted.
  4. Submit Required Documents.
    • Undergraduate courses usually don't require transcripts unless the course has prerequisites.
    • Graduate courses may require proof of a bachelor's degree.
  5. Pay the Application Fee
  6. Register for Classes

Notes:

  • Non-degree seeking students aren't eligible for federal financial aid.
  • You can switch to a degree-seeking status later to pursue a full program.
