How do I appeal a Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) denial?
If you've been placed on SAP Denied status, you may be able to appeal. Federal law requires all UMGC students who apply for or receive financial aid to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards. Each year, after the spring term grades are posted, the Office of Financial Aid reviews academic progress to make sure students are meeting these requirements.
If you do not meet SAP standards, your financial aid eligibility may be denied. However, you may be able to submit an appeal to request probationary status for one semester:
