Program Spotlight Series: Choosing Your Political Science Path

Attend this free, online event to learn more about the evolving Political Science program at University of Maryland Global Campus. Beginning in Fall 2026, the Bachelor of Science in Political Science will offer two areas of specialization: American Government and International Relations & Policy. These new options provide the flexibility to tailor your coursework based on your personal interests, professional goals, and the rapidly changing political landscape.

In this Program Spotlight, we will:

• Discuss the new specialty pathways and how they support students interested in careers in government, public policy, diplomacy, international development, advocacy, and related fields.
• Explore the benefits of specialization, including how focused coursework can strengthen your academic profile and prepare you for graduate study or career advancement.
• Examine current trends shaping domestic politics and global relations, and how these developments influence the skills and knowledge political science graduates need today.
