S. K. Bhaskar, PhD
Acting Dean, School of Cybersecurity and Information Technology
S. K. Bhaskar is associate dean of the School of Cybersecurity and Information Technology at UMGC and currently serves as acting dean.
He first taught for the university as an adjunct instructor in 1983 and, after working elsewhere as a senior programmer and analyst for several years, joined the university full time as director of the computer and information science program in 1998. At UMGC, he went on to manage the computer science program and develop the undergraduate program in cybersecurity and—more recently—the 15-week UMGC cloud accelerator training program for Amazon Web Services.
He holds an MS from the Indian Institute of Science School of Automation, in Bangalore, India, and earned his PhD in computer science from University of Maryland, College Park.
