Gain hands-on experience and advance your career in a growing and fast-paced field with an online master’s degree in information technology with a concentration in software engineering from University of Maryland Global Campus. Learn from our knowledgeable faculty as you prepare for leadership roles in the implementation of large-scale projects. The software engineering program is designed to help you lead a successful software development team and provide value to organizations in the implementation of large-scale software-intensive projects. At UMGC, you can network and learn from professionals who currently work in the field. Our graduates may enter roles such as senior software engineer, software developer, software quality assurance engineer, and systems development leader.

Experience Recommended for Success in the Program

The software engineering concentration is designed for students with a degree and/or professional experience in software development and programming languages. Strong writing skills are also encouraged.
