Walter “Jay” Sternberg
Senior Director, Marketing Content
Walter “Jay” Sternberg serves as the senior director of marketing content at University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC), where he works with his team to plan, produce and manage content across the organization. During his 20+ year marketing career, Sternberg has held several critical leadership roles, including developing fundraising campaigns to help military, veterans, and their families with Operation Homefront and the USO, raising awareness and promoting work programs and services for people with disabilities through AbilityOne, and supporting K-12 and higher education institutions with e-learning, transaction, and emergency communications while working at Blackboard. Jay earned his MS in integrated marketing communications from Northwestern University in 2002 and received his BA in history from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. His passion for supporting the military comes from his father, who served in the Army during the Korean War, his grandfather, who served during World War II, and his great uncle, who served as a Navy pilot.
