Healthcare Economics

HMGT 435 | 3 Credits

Course Desc: Prerequisite: HMGT 300 (or BMGT 361) and HMGT 310. A comprehensive and analytical study of basic economics and its relationship to the delivery of healthcare. The aim is to apply the principles of economics to healthcare management and to anticipate the impact of economics on the outcomes of healthcare management decisions. Topics include the microeconomic aspects of the organization and delivery of healthcare, financing and other major components of the healthcare system, and economic factors that influence the delivery of healthcare.
