Health Informatics and Data Analytics

HIMS 650 | 3 Credits

Course Desc: The application of basic statistics and research methods in health information management. Focus is on the analysis of clinical and administrative data to assist in healthcare decision making, planning, policy development, and state and national level reporting. Topics include compilation and analysis of healthcare data; identification of data sources, data collection methods, analytical and visualization techniques; data mining; clinical and biomedical research and its implications for healthcare quality. Students may receive credit for only one of the following courses: HAIN 650 or HIMS 650.
