Exhibition runs through January 5 and features paintings, drawings and sculptures that address the lives and struggles of African Americans in the South – drawing from themes of historical and societal import, including voting rights, family life and faith.

UMGC claimed first, second, and fourth place in the 17th annual competition, nearly sweeping the capture-the-flag (CTF) event that included more than 100 students across the U.S.

Ebony McArthur received three degrees from UMGC and is a small business owner of McArthur Realty Group.

Event featured a keynote address by the Honorable James G. Rodriguez, assistant U.S. Labor Secretary for Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS), a UMGC alum and U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Gunnery Sgt. Jamshidi was recognized as the UMGC General John W. Vessey, Jr. Student Veteran of the Year at the university’s Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 11 in Adelphi, Md.

With both beginners and aspiring cybersecurity professionals in mind, UMGC faculty member Jesse Varsalone and alumnus Chris Haller joined forces to produce The Hack Is Back: Techniques to Beat Hackers at Their Own Games, a book that examines how hackers and nation-states gain access to confidential information on some of the most protected systems and networks in the world.
