Alliances promote positive change and uplift emerging entrepreneurs

On Feb. 19, University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) joined nearly four dozen regional workforce, education, and small-business organizations at the Federal Professionals’ Entrepreneurship Fair, hosted by Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation. The event connected federal employees preparing for career transitions with programs and services that support new business ventures and long-term professional growth.

The fair underscored UMGC’s place in Prince George’s County, evidenced by a variety of alliances that promote skills for the workforce, including partnerships with Prince George’s County Government, the Prince George’s County Police Department, and UMGC’s 3D Scholars program with Prince George’s County Public Schools and Prince George’s Community College. The program offers an accelerated path to a bachelor’s degree at a cost of $10,000 or less.
