The UMGC cybersecurity competition team claimed first, second, and third place finishes in the Annual Mid-Atlantic Gigabit Innovation Collaboratory (MAGIC) Competition on Oct. 22. More than 19 teams competed in the capture-the-flag (CTF) event.

The EC-Council, a global cybersecurity technical certification body, has selected University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) for its 2022 Academic Circle of Excellence.

UMGC commemorated Veterans Day at a ceremony held at the university’s headquarters in Adelphi, Md. The Honorable Michael A. Jackson, Maryland state senator and chair of the Maryland Veterans Caucus Military Operations, in recognition of the university’s 75th anniversary), provided keynote remarks.

UMGC's Christy Bobsein was honored with the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Veterans Program Administrators (NAVPA).

The vast gallery showcasing exhibits by the Arts Program at University of Maryland Global Campus features a dramatic black-and-brown zigzagged carpet. The striking design in this room can easily overpower more subtle art if curators are not careful. Not so with the current retrospective, “Nelson Stevens: Color Rapping,” which runs through Jan. 8, 2023.

UMGC President Greg Fowler presented Attorney General Brian Frosh with the institution’s highest award, the UMGC President’s Medal. Frosh was honored for his leadership on cybersecurity-related policy issues and for his service to the state of Maryland.
