Prince George’s students move closer to accelerated bachelor’s degrees

The 3D Scholars Transition Day welcomed rising 11th and 12th graders for a day of preparation and celebration as they advance through an accelerated pathway to a college degree. Part of an innovative partnership between Prince George’s County Public Schools, Prince George’s Community College, and University of Maryland Global Campus, 3D Scholars can earn college credit while still in high school, transition seamlessly to a four-year degree program, and graduate—ahead of their peers—while incurring little if any debt. The annual Transition Day event offers these learners hands-on guidance on dual enrollment, college readiness requirements, and key success skills they will need as they pursue an associate degree at PGCC and continue their studies at UMGC.

Held on April 24, 2026, Transition Day reflected the strength of a partnership built on shared commitment to accessible, affordable education in Prince George’s County, Maryland, setting learners up for meaningful careers and continued success beyond the classroom.
