Tuition savings and flexible programs advance career-relevant skills
Supporting adult learners is central to the mission of University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC), including those serving in the federal workforce. Through the Federal Education and Development (FED) Program, eligible federal employees, as well as their spouses and dependents, may receive up to a 25 percent tuition discount on UMGC undergraduate and graduate programs.
“UMGC is committed to assisting federal employees with flexible, affordable programs that align with their professional responsibilities and career goals,” said Justin Hasty, director of strategic partnerships at UMGC. “By supporting continued learning among federal employees, we help agencies close critical skills gaps, strengthen mission delivery, and better serve the public.”
Over the past 11 years, more than 5,000 learners have participated in the FED Program, benefiting from more than $12 million in cumulative tuition savings.
Like many adult learners, federal employees balance professional responsibilities with ongoing education; UMGC designs its academic programs with that reality in mind. Coursework is offered online, schedules are flexible, and instruction focuses on in-demand skills learners can apply directly to their roles.
