Strengthening Learner Support at Global Advising Conference

At the 2025 NACADA Conference—organized by NACADA, The Global Community for Academic Advising—University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) leaders Susan Hawkins-Wilding and Jennifer Weist shared how the university’s virtual-first Success Coach training model strengthens support for adult and military-affiliated learners around the world. Their session, Bet on Better: Training and Development Strategies that Pay Off, highlighted UMGC’s scalable approach to onboarding and professional development—ensuring Success Coaches are equipped to deliver personalized, high-impact guidance to more than 45,000 online students each year.
