Adelphi, Md. — October 13, 2025 — University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) has named Dr. Lauren Segura Dean of the School of Integrative and Professional Studies. Dr. Segura brings more than two decades of experience in higher education and workforce development, including leadership development roles at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Strayer University, where she led initiatives that align with UMGC’s focus on career readiness and serving adult learners.
At UMGC, Dr. Segura will oversee interdisciplinary programs designed to prepare students for careers in high-demand fields such as biological sciences, communications, criminal justice, education, and public safety. Her focus will be on strengthening applied learning and expanding opportunities for student success.
Dr. Segura most recently led global workforce development initiatives at the FBI. Prior to that, she served as Program Dean and Associate Vice Provost for General Education at Strayer University, where she helped design a skills-based undergraduate curriculum. Her continued engagement in teaching reflects a deep commitment to student success and the transformative power of education.
