Alliance Expands Access to Education for CAVA Restaurant Group’s Team Members

Adelphi, Md. (January 16, 2023)—University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) and CAVA, a leading fast-casual restaurant brand with more than 300 locations, have created an alliance that expands access and affordability of higher education to the company’s team members.

Under the alliance, all CAVA team members -- and their immediate family – can take individual courses or enroll in any of UMGC’s more than 90 undergraduate and graduate degree or certificate programs at discounted tuition rates and with no application fee. All courses are available fully online, and UMGC offers cost savings through its use of digital resources, which have replaced costly publisher textbooks in most courses.

”We are pleased to join with CAVA to help their team members and their families achieve their educational goals,” said Blakely Pomietto, senior vice president and chief academic officer at UMGC. “We offer programs in a wide variety of fields that can elevate the expertise the company needs to continue to succeed and to grow.”

Students enrolling in UMGC’s degree programs may be eligible to transfer credits from other institutions and/or earn credit for prior learning, shortening the path to a degree.
