University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is excited to announce that students can earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in as little as 15 months for about $21,000.

Building on our dedication to continuous innovation and to attainable, accessible, and affordable education, we evaluated our MBA program based on feedback from students and found an opportunity to streamline the program and accomplish the same learning outcomes in less time.

“We are excited about this special opportunity to offer a 30-credit MBA program beginning in Fall 2023 with faster time to completion and lower out-of-pocket costs for our students,” said Ravi Mittal, chair of UMGC’s department of business administration. “Courses will be facilitated by our experienced scholar-practitioner faculty who have demonstrated their teaching effectiveness before being assigned to teach in the MBA program.”

Updates to the UMGC MBA: Orientation and Preflight

The updated program removes what used to be the introductory course for the program and instead allows students to begin core coursework right away, after a brief orientation.

“All incoming students will complete an interactive program orientation that familiarizes them with classroom structure and the MBA program’s project-based curriculum,” said Mittal. “The orientation also includes modules on resources and support services available to students throughout their studies at UMGC.”

Recognizing students come to the MBA program with varying education and work experience backgrounds, UMGC is also introducing the Preflight tool to MBA students to help them continuously improve throughout the program. Preflight is a diagnostic self-assessment tool that students will use at the beginning of each MBA course that identifies areas of support each student may need or want to augment their studies.

“Preflight will direct students to a Supplemental Study Blueprint which identifies just-in-time supplementary learning materials to address identified areas of support,” said Mittal. “Supplementary content will be available for the introduction or reinforcement of concepts or skills, as needed, as the student moves through the main content in the course.”

Advance with a Trusted and Accredited MBA Program

An MBA from UMGC provides students with a degree from an accredited university that is backed by the University System of Maryland (USM). UMGC’s MBA program has also been accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) for more than 20 years. IACBE's accreditation process examines if a program is functioning and teaching effectively, which requires that its member institutions follow a process of continuous quality improvement that builds student competencies and prepares them to succeed professionally.
