Celebrating Diversity

Take a look into the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of Solanges Vivens, a visionary business leader who has been at the forefront of healthcare entrepreneurship for more than 40 years. She offers 25 rules for life and business to the world in hopes that they may inspire the next generation of female entrepreneurs. Vivens uses these pearls of wisdom to challenge her audience to look at their own past, embrace their present, and to stay on track with goals for their future.

Vivens believes every one of us comes into the world the same way, but not all of us are born into the same world. Though we may not have a choice about how our lives begin, we are responsible for how we spend the rest of the time we have left. The purpose of her rules is to provoke thought and give personal and professional direction, as well as spiritual guidance, to those who are struggling with life.

About the Speaker

Solanges Vivens, DHumLitt, emigrated to the United States from Haiti as a teenager. Starting as a factory laborer, Vivens earned degrees in nursing and healthcare administration, eventually becoming an entrepreneurial titan and policy maker in the healthcare industry. Through determination and courage in the face of poverty, language barriers, racism, immigration hurdles, and sexism, Vivens built a multimillion-dollar business empire in the politically fraught climate of Washington, D.C. She is also the author of two books, Girls Can Move Mountains and A Revelation: Walking Backwards into the Footsteps of St. Solange.
