Writing Fellows Coordinator, The Effective Writing Center

Biography

Michelle Bowman coordinates the writing fellows program for the Effective Writing Center and has been with the center since 2006. Michelle oversees scheduling, conducts performance reviews, handles communications within and about the program, and serves as a liaison for faculty and writing fellows to provide timely and professional writing workshop services for online students.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Distance Education and E-Learning from UMGC. She enjoys tutoring students in writing and takes pride in fostering their success. She helped develop an undergraduate writing course for UMGC and has assisted in the creation of instructional writing videos, including "How to Write an Introductory Paragraph," which has more than 184,000 hits on YouTube.

Michelle lives in North Carolina with her husband and daughters and enjoys spending time with her family, reading, kayaking, and traveling.
