Lisa Henkel is vice president of operations and planning at UMGC. In this role she leads the implementation of operational strategies and objectives across multiple revenue-generating and support departments.
Henkel joined UMGC in March 1999. Prior to her current role, she served as the vice president of enrollment management. Henkel has also served in UMGC's overseas division as the director of downrange and Europe operations, where she was responsible for directing UMGC's enrollment operations across Europe and for meeting the educational needs of servicemembers deployed downrange with the U.S. Central Command and U.S. Africa Command. Prior to her leadership role overseas, Henkel served in a variety of capacities with UMGC stateside, including associate vice president for Maryland operations.
Henkel earned an associate's degree from the Community College of the Air Force, a bachelor's degree in business management from Excelsior College, and a master's degree in management and a Master of Business Administration from UMGC. In 2009, Henkel received UMGC's Presidential Award, which recognizes members of the university's staff who have demonstrated exemplary performance.
