Workers' Compensation Law

LGST 314 | 1 Credit

Course Desc: A thorough study of the Maryland Workers' Compensation Act and the practice of workers' compensation law in Maryland. The goal is to apply knowledge of legal systems, concepts, and methodologies to support client objectives efficiently and ethically. Topics include employer/employee relationships, injuries, defenses, compensation benefits, vocational rehabilitation, and appeals. Assignments include legal and factual research and the composition of legal documents or completion of forms. Students may receive credit for only one of the following courses: LGST 314 or PLGL 398H.
